Who we are

AssignMate is an AI-powered writing feedback service for parents of NSW Year 1–7 students. We are operated as a sole trader based in Australia. Contact: assignmate@magnetfy.app

What data we collect

• Your email address — if you provide it, for example when creating an account or contacting support.
• Your child's year level and task type — to tailor the feedback. No name, school, or other identifying details are required or stored.
• The writing draft — the anonymised text you paste into the submission form. You are required to remove all names, school names, and personal identifiers before submitting.
• Rubric text and teacher feedback (optional) — if you choose to include them.
• Payment details — payments are handled by Stripe; we never see or store card numbers or banking information.
• Usage data — standard server logs (IP address, browser type, pages visited) retained for up to 90 days for security purposes.

How we use your data

• To generate and show your writing feedback report.
• To improve the quality of our AI prompts — only using aggregated, fully anonymised data.
• To process payments via Stripe.
• To respond to support enquiries.

We do not sell your data. We do not use your data for advertising. We do not share your data with any third party except as described in this policy.

Third-party services

• Google AI or Groq— depending on the configured provider, the anonymised writing draft is sent to an AI API to generate feedback. Google's privacy policy and Groq's privacy policy govern their data use.
• Stripe — payment processing. Stripe's privacy policy applies to payment data.
• Vercel — hosting and database infrastructure. Located in Australia or nearest available region.

Data retention and deletion

We retain your submission and report for up to 12 months after delivery so you can re-access your report link if needed.

You can request deletion of all your data at any time by visiting our data deletion page. We will process your request within 30 days and confirm by email.

Children's privacy

AssignMate is a service for parents, not children. The account holder and email address must belong to a parent or guardian aged 18 or over. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children.

We require that all student names and identifying details be removed from writing drafts before submission. The platform enforces this via a mandatory redaction checklist.

Your rights

Under Australian privacy law (the Privacy Act 1988 and the Australian Privacy Principles), you have the right to:

• Access the personal information we hold about you.
• Request correction of inaccurate information.
• Request deletion of your data.
• Complain about how we handle your personal information.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be notified by email to users with active accounts. Continued use of AssignMate after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
